Viruses and Spam pose an increasingly serious threat to Internet users. Without the proper protection, you may be defenseless against viruses and Spam.
Auracom wants to do everything possible to ensure that the email experience provided to our subscribers is safe, trouble-free, reliable, and effective. In order to combat malicious computer viruses and Spam that can worm their way into your computer; the first step is to educate yourself.
A computer virus is simply a small computer program designed to copy itself - over and over and over. This form of self-replicating program is typically referred to as an "infection" because, like real biological viruses, such programs need the aid of "hosts" to
spread.
Your hard drive and floppy disks are what act as hosts for the infecting viruses, which alter, damage, or delete your files - and may even damage the computer's operating system.
Spam (aka UCE: Unsolicited Commercial E-mail) is the Internet version of "junk mail." It is an attempt to deliver a message over the Internet, to someone who would not otherwise choose to receive it.
Spam is flooding the Internet with many copies of the same message, in an attempt to force the message on people who would not otherwise choose to receive it.
Auracom's MailRover Spam and Virus Sniffer provides best-of-breed technology to protect subscribers from Spam and viruses.
Using MailRover, Auracom has erected a virtual "mail fence" that protects its valued subscribers through a sophisticated server-based system. MailRover automatically sniffs out Spam and viruses before they ever hit your e-mail box.
MailRover Spam Sniffer
Instead of automatically throwing away suspected Spam, MailRover places the e-mail into a virtual mailbox. MailRover's "Doghouse Database" holds Spam that is removed from a user's legitimate email for a designated period of time.
The database is also a failsafe for storing email that should not have been removed. MailRover subscribers will receive a notification indicating the number of suspected Spam messages placed in the Doghouse. Users can then check that mailbox and decided to keep or toss the messages.
In addition to high-end software and hardware, Auracom relies on human review of Spam mail. Because
"spammers" are constantly developing new ways to get around Spam protection software, Auracom has a staff of experts to review Spam mail.
This staff works constantly to ensure that new Spam attacks, that try to get around the rules of the latest MailRover product, do not enter the network.
MailRover Virus Sniffer
Viruses attached to email represent a significant threat to Internet subscribers. Over half of all viruses come from email attachments. The need to monitor email messages for dangerous, offensive or confidential
content has never been more evident.
The most deadly viruses, able to cripple your email system in minutes, are being distributed worldwide via email in a matter of hours (for example, the Anna virus). When left defenseless, e-mail viruses can wreak havoc on your computer.
